CP 2000 - NOTICE OF UNDERREPORTED INCOME

A letter from the IRS may give any taxpayer cause for concern. The CP2000 letter usually sent to you when the information on your tax return doesn’t match the income and payment information the IRS has on file for you. If the notice is about unreported or underreported income, this may result in an increase in your taxes.

The difference may be related to a clerical or accounting error, forgetting about a source of income, or party incorrectly reporting the taxpayer because of a mistake or fraud.

DO NOT WORRY IF YOU GET THIS TYPE OF LETTER (and any other ones)!

Contact us and we will review your previously files return, correct the mistake (very often return needs to be amended) and will prepare a response package to the IRS.

Sincerely,

Maryna Varabyova, CPA
